BYU states that the system would allow you to transmit a sequence of 1s and 0s, triggering and deactivating signals that suit specific patterns, helping you to keep the connection alive and control the impulses that are connected to the transmission.

The ONPC protocol enabled researchers to expand the range of a network beyond the regular Wi-Fi range by 67 meters in trials.

The group proposes that smart home systems that just need an on / off signal like a garage door detector, an air quality meter, or even a sprinkler system might be good enough.
